Personally I do not have much problem. But then I am used to four travellers' chests in singleplayer...
That put aside you can find at the Blighted Village a container in form of a book. That is a nice looking container for scrolls.
Wait, i can have more than one Traveler's chest? How do i do that?!
Good tip for my scrolls on the book container!!
You know about the multiple avatar characters trick?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3015842445
You can use that and create multiple avatars, without actually using multiple avatars. Once you store the additional avatar characters away, the traveller's chests of them will not go away. You an additional green, red and blue one.
You can also put container into container. So e.g. you find a gilded chest - put it into the traveller's chest. Use different kind of containers and you have sorta kind of more options.
Good trick, but my PC will probably explode if i try to open BG3 4 times.
The container in container is what i'm thinking to do, but i wish i could label them, so i can know what's inside without the need to open.
They could make a storeroom in the camp, where anything drop there stays, but i'm good with the ability to label containers.
The Bags Bags Bags mod will give you auto-sorting containers that automatically sort items by type, such as arrows, potions, scrolls, grenades, quest items, books, etc. I think this is what you want, probably, and you might find useful, so I suggest it. The game already gives you three auto-sorting containers for camp supplies, alchemy ingredients, and keys. This is just adding more such containers like that.
You do not have to do it four times ~
Trying the trick will not hurt, especially since you are not playing with four instances all the time. You just need to do it once after all, right?
that's what she said
BG 1&2 have 16 inventory slots per character and somehow even that works.
BG3 on the other hand, is filled with nonsensical trash items everywhere. When a new-found magic item immediately gets marked "add to wares", you know it's not good.
You learn early not to loot everything.
But beware. Some important(valuable items have no colour markers at all.
Tell that to my bag of holding and NPCs i recruited and dismissed just to be item holder in BG2.
Still, BG2 didn’t have the absurd quantity of magical items that BG3 has, which is more a Divinity trait than a D&D trait itself.
All this to say, yes, I think renaming bags could help.
