if you're worrying about performance, I wouldn't. I saw someone turn the game in practically potato mash to get it to run on an INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CARD and it ran pretty well (20 fps but what can you expect from an integrated graphics card), so as long as you mess about with settings you should be in the clear. I don't know first hand, though; Since my only experience of this game has been on the 2 hour ps+ trial, lol.
I don't have a PS5 and I don't really intend to get one

well ♥♥♥♥ lmao, the only other way i can think of you trying the game is if you were to buy it, then stream it through geforce now without actually downloading it. Sure the quality might be bad but it'll definitely be less data used than installing the whole 150gb file.

Yeah, my data cap for a month is 125 GB (literally the only way I've found to not get screwed over downloading big files is starting the download about 10pm on the night of turnover) so I'd be going over just downloading the game, let alone any other internet or streaming TV use for the month. I don't understand why games need to be so big but I guess it's for people with unlimited internet only. If there's even a physical copy it likely wouldn't come with a refund policy.

There are data plans for internet at home? What the heck...phone I understand somewhat but for your run of the mill internet connection a cap...

Sad part is my phone data plan (through a different provider) is unlimited data.

try to test geforce now with a free game to gauge how much data usage it'll use up, and then you can decide if you want to buy the game to test it, thats probably ur only option here unless you switch contracts

I'm not familiar with geforce now, do I have to buy the subscription and the game?

nah, theres a subscription that basically cuts your wait times in half, but as long as you have the games paid for on your steam account, you can play them for free (obviously with having to purchase them first)

ah yeah, my bad; On geforce now you have to wait for a server slot to be free'd up, since you are practically streaming your game from a random PC in the geforce server room, but the waits are not *that* long (since the last time i used geforce now it might've changed), around the same time as loading up the game anyways

forgot to mention that its not really a replacement for not installing the game, but in your situation its probably the best you'll get.

In all likelihood I'll probably have to find a way around actually downloading it if I want to play the game. I'm old enough to remember when being able to download a game was a convenient novelty, now it's just a burden. From the looks of it the $80 physical version doesn't even include the game, just a download link. So what's the point?

yeah, I honestly hate installing games. Theres no need for games to be so massive, even smaller scale games like cities skylines and stellaris take up at least 20-30GB with all its DLC's.

oh welcome back OP haven't seen you around here since last year November.

but as others have said there is no demo.
Best you could do is watch youtube videos about the game ( preferably just from the early game cus spoilers and such.)

Steam´s policy for RPGs is simply bonkers, you should have at least 4 hours for a better trial.

It's frustrating due to the size of games, downloads taking time (and in my case, data) and having to figure out if your drive has enough space, and making space... Okay, that last part has always been part of the PC gaming equation but still.
