BG3's LGBT Support
BG3's diverse cast, featuring various gay and sexually ambiguous characters' romance options, is a nice step towards inclusivity in gaming. That said, my concerns lingers on how the game tackles the issue of gender dysphoria.

Introducing a trans character alongside other non-traditional characters risks overwhelming players, particularly young ones grappling with their identity. Despite the game's intent to promote acceptance, I worry that it propels people dealing with gender dysphoria deeper into confusion and turmoil.

Gender dysphoria is a serious mental condition, not a lifestyle choice. It demands our support and understanding, steering clear of encouragement that might lead to further confusion.

Large studios, like Larian Studios, bear the responsibility of handling sensitive topics with care. Pushing gender dysphoria through a character in BG3 feels like a reckless gamble with potentially harmful consequences. Instead of fostering confusion, games should provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their identities without feeling pressured. That's my personal take on it. I know alot of you out there agree with me on this.

So wait, you're upset about hints and not anything blatant or in your face?

hints that they are close are, once again, not romantic in nature.

Reminds me of people who were super upset about the one trans character in Pathfinder: WotR whose status as a trans person was so hidden, you needed to ask her about what her treatment had been for, wait for an in-game year or something, then pester her about it again AND pass a high-difficulty skill check.

Remember, even if it's super subtle and hidden it's still too in your face! /s

the proper way to write a trans character

I find these peoples weird obsession with scouring the game looking for any hint of gay/trans activity somewhat amusing. After having lived through the Satanic Panic of the 80's seeing it again in a new form within the gaming community is just ironic.

Forgot to add, but if you messed up the skill check, that was either it for that playthrough (impossible to try again), or you had to wait yet another in-game year to try again. I don't remember which.

Too bad Jack Chick died or we could have had some hilarious anti-queer comics to laugh at

And to think that an option to turn on or off pansexuality dialogues and scenes would've avoided all these discussions...

You’re incredibly naive if you think it would be that simple.

introducing queer characters is wrong no matter how you take it because BG1 and BG2 did not have these. Having all companions gay, sorry ,,playersexual" ahem, and a trans character is just so it can make this great game into a netflix drama.

I personally hate all the queer elements and will play a evil char just to see them dissapear from the game.

Well, at least you're open about your bigotry. And "they didn't have it before" isn't a reason not to have it now.

And in original fps games you couldn't look up, down, jump or crouch.

I do respect your candor about it though, it's quite refreshing compared to all these asshats who try to couch their hate-speech in neutrality or 6th grade "science" logic
im not gonna hide it. When i see modern day BS(gay, trans, empower woman etc) it really takes me from my imersion. I know they included this only to tickle these groups.

Whats next? gonna include climate change in the game also? A Greta character?

These things are only "modern" in Judaeo-christian dominated societies.

Games didn't use to have graphics and I'm offended by the current woke wave of shoving color and imagery down our throats!

Figuring out yet why there's more prevalence for LGBT people now? Must be something to do with them being much less afraid of living their lives because more and more people are becoming aware.

But still, nothing to do with your claim that gays, lesbians and bisexuals don't make sense in a medieval setting... despite that, well, history itself doesn't agree with you. Lol.
im ok with them in real life, im not gonna accept them invading my hobby.

We're not invading your hobby. You're invading ours.
