Have you read the note about where and how to use the severed hands?
Yes, of course I found the button. I have the password and when I click the door it won't let me use it which is why a work around is needed.
Interesting. Are you using any Mods. Now or ever?
If you had all that and it still won't let you open the door, send a bug report to Larian. They will probably want a copy of your save file.
The Murder Tribunal located under Candulhallow’s Tombstones; there's a hidden button to access the trap door down to the Tribunal, I believe.
Yes, this quest sucks direction-wise. I had to look up a guide to figure out what I was missing, as I assumed the Tribunal was located in the Temple of Bhaal, not hidden under a random shop.
It does suck which is why another way in is needed. There's way too many ways for it to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up but I did finally figure it out.
What was the problem (for future folks that have an issue)?
One of the patches reset quite a few of my quests including Orin's. however Orin's quest was the only one that my journal didn't update to reflect that (maybe cause it's a main quest) so the journal was reflecting everything that I found while the game actually did a background reset. Had to go redo everything three times before it registered including finding the scroll to read because the only thing it didn't reset was the dwarf assassin fight.
I did edited the main post to reflect what I found too. :)
