Secondly, Elixirs of Vigilance are easy enough to craft or buy in the early game, and are a 1-1 consumable version of the Alert Feat. Now that you know you can be surprised, being surprised shouldn't be an issue.
If you hate the idea of taking the best Feat in the game on any of your characters, or meta-gaming your elixir choice, bring summons and/or summoning Lump and crew should give you enough characters to tank a few Hold Persons with characters to spare to free those who are trapped.
Or just sneak past the Masks; I believe Ethel does not create clones, but rather summons the Masks for help if they're not dead/incapacitated.
Lastly, Auntie Ethel's Legendary Action is to create more clones when you cast a spell, so Magic Missile probably isn't your best solution anymore unless you can spam it multiple times in a turn, since she only gets 1 use of the Legendary Action per turn.
well i wasnt rly aware of those elixirs since i didnt get a single one. Also i had all my characters get surprised twice so i assumed it was just ment to be like this in honour mode. as for the magic missile i didnt get to see what was the effect of her legendary spell since i couldnt play a single action on any of my characters both times i attempted this.
i think i'm gonna give up if i'm going to die to random bs that if you dont already know how to enter the fight or what to do/dont do you insta lose.
But in Honor , they are not clones apparently.
They are full hit point doubles ... you are going to fight 6 hags .. which is right off the deep end ... I play with 2 characters not 4 .. that puts the Hag right out of even trying
I have had little issues with Ethel.. but I also usually play a caster, and magic missile is your friend. You can kill off all of her clones in a single missile and they never get a turn.
the real problem for me was Ansur .
His StormHeart Nova hit like 50-100 damages.
and when he dies got 1+100 hp and cast StormHeart Nova again
well since all the clones have independant AI, it would be REALL good luck if none of them even tried to cast hold person on any turns.
Casting silence on her, or opening the fight with a stunning strike or something gives you a good advantage
Step 1: Gather every explosive you can find. (Hint: There is a Powder Keg in the Blacksmith and also A LOT of Powder Kegs in the ruined Temple of Selune)
Step 2: Start Convo, switch to a random Party Member and place all Powder Kegs around the Hag. (I recommend that you have Astarion with you, because he will have the highest DEX in your party and usually starts first in battle)
Step 3: Engange Fight and blast this stupid b*tch aka Hag to pieces.
EZ - Works only if you dont give a F about the +1 from her.
1) Spider Egg, throw it to start the battle with just spiders (if you are lucky - it triggers fear).
2) Cast Silence to prevent clones.
3) Spam any fear ability as a bard/one shot her as a gloomstalker assuming you have level 5.
4) Ranger with a spider can solo her, he has Silence, spider to trigger fear, Raven to blind so you can force her to melee attack instead of everything.
Berserker with silence from any1 else can solo her with ez.
