We have the Xbox version of the game now, so insert meme of John Travolta looking confused here 'cause I could have sworn we were supposed to be getting cross-play with this...

Congrats on being an uninformed consumer, I guess? There's no reason you should have thought the game was being released with console-PC crossplay.

Never said we where gonna get cross play, but they did say they would make it so your save files can be used on other platforms, which they have done (you just have to login with your Larian account on PS5 or xbox version).

if they can do that... then y can't the cross play. just have to have u log in on larian account to do it.

Because facilitating seamless communication with different platforms that have different network architectures is a completely different kettle of fish compared to just storing save files on a cloud server.

oh ok. ya i for real didn't know. still i wish they would so many friends playing on xbox or ps.. and all i have is a pc. would be awsome to play with them without taking out a lone to buy a xbox and ps. and 2 more copies of the game

I am very aware that crossplay is coming eventually™. I said there is no reason OP "should have thought the game was being released with console-PC crossplay."

A date was never given for crossplay, nor do I assume OP is knees-deep in BG3 discourse enough to have known that crossplay is even coming eventually. If they were that invested, they would have been invested enough to know the game doesn't have crossplay at this time. Very easy information to research.

Feel free to actually read people's posts in the future before attempting "gotchas" about things they didn't say. Now you should feel silly.

Try harder. He just got the X-Box version, which was just released. Exactly five months after the tweet I posted. Very reasonable to assume cross play wouid be available now, since Larian and pretty much ever gaming news site said it was coming.

PS5 released months ago without crossplay, Mac and PC "have crossplay" that doesn't work for months at a time because of patch mismatches. What, pray tell, makes the Xbox release special in this regard?

There is no ambiguity, if you search for anything related to BG3 crossplay, you will see it does not have it currently. OP simply did not look into the matter before opening their wallet. That is the definition of an uninformed consumer.

I could have sworn I heard somewhere a while back that they were planning to launch crossplay with the release of the Xbox version specifically. Must have heard wrong. I'm playing on PC and I've been waiting to play with one of my friends on PS5.
