Racial Ability Score

Did they remove the racial ability score? Yesterday night I created a new character and there was an ability score that goes with each race (humans +1 to everything, drow +2 dex etc...)
And now it's gone.
Someone know something about it?

They removed it before launch but left the racial abilities like Dwarfs getting poison resistance. Now everyone gets a +1 to one ability and a +2 to another, your choice.

Yesterday night? Did you step into a time portal by accident? The racial stuff was there in early access. It is not there in the released version

wotc deemed "racial ability score" to be racist, replaced the word "race" with "species" in playtest material last year, considered "half-elves" and such problematic, and so on.

They gave humans carry capacity bonus too so they can being luggages of the other races or It Is just a BG3 idea?

Yesterday night? Did you step into a time portal by accident? The racial stuff was there in early access. It is not there in the released version

I don't know why, but a couple of weeks without playing I started a new game with a friend yesterday and it appeared again, so I thought that it was again like normal D&D, and today is gone so... I don't know what happened

Now you're not forced to play specific races for specific builds, that's a win in my eyes.
I don't wanna be forced to play a strictly inferior build because the class doesn't match the race.

Original D&D racial traits were fundamental in keeping races sort of balanced, this way, there are clearly superior and inferior races. If they wanted to remove some sort of "racism" from the game, they clearly achieved the opposite... Why would I play, now, a non Infrared vision race?

I actually miss having to figure out how to make a suboptimal race choice work for my chosen classes. But it was probably for the best

I mean, you'd just be hard-locked into a horrendous spec. A cha reliant class starting with a max of 15 and needing 3 ASIs (in this games case, 2 with hag hair) to max it out is BAD.

Races that follow the +2/+1 formula, you can just do that.
Humans and dwarves kinda got screwed over, but they are saved again by the insane racial proficiencies you can pick up.
Free medium armor for dwarves? Hellll yea
Free light armor + shields for humans? Heeeeeeelllll yea

??? What are you smoking? During EA one of the more popular changes was removing ability scores because people were just metagaming with the same 2-3 races endlessly rather than the ones they wanted to for looks/etc. It was a frequent complaint and one commented on by the devs a bunch of times during that period.

WOTC or whatever you're claiming never entered into it when it was changed a year ago or so.

Yeah, static racial bonuses suck, if you wanna play a bard/sorc/warlock/paladin your first thought is always gonna be "hoo boy can't wait to make another tiefling!"
