Confronting Ansur -- spoilers
So is it even worth confronting this undead dragon? I mean if there actually was a chance you could convince him to join the fight to defend Baldur's Gate, then maybe yes. But as is no matter what you do, you can't convince him to join. On a second playthru of this scenario, I just walked right past him without talking and grabbed Baldur's Helm, then left. Fighting him serves no purpose, does it?

The best melee weapon in the game is the point of fighting him.

You can loot the "Balduran's Giantslayer" off his corpse, a legendary greatsword.

you can get the Achievement for knocking Ansur out of the sky mid flight

its a lore important fight, the emperor has alot to say to you after the fight

and its good XP
