I'd say the price is about right, but if you're legitimately not in a good financial situation or just short of money I'd say wait. Definitely deal with that first.

A discount probably won't be until the later end of the year, but it's not like the game is going anywhere in the meantime.

Whenever I want to buy a game I consider 2 things, how much I'm interested in it and what is the worth per hour. BG3 had me very interested since it was launched in Early Access and after made the purchase I have over 3,000 hours clocked in. Worth it. For instance RE4 was great game but too short. So hour of fun / dollar is a good measure when you need to save money, for it will keep you entertained longer until you can afford a new game.

Don't buy things you can't afford and if you need that money for other things than you're better off saving it.

That said, this game isn't likely to get a sale anytime soon and IMO is worth full price.

It's the only fullprice game I've bought in almost a decade and I have no regrets.

"wait for a sale some time next year" - this. Devs still release many patches, not only fixing bugs, but adding also content. You might as well wait and enjoy a smoother experience.

I've never seen Larian put their games on sale ever, and with the way BG3 is selling I don't think they'd need to. You can always try getting a job

I don't condone addictions or wasting money; especially if there are much more important and necessary purchases to make. Baldur's Gate 3 is one of those items, yes, spend your last dollar on this game, you will not regret.

If you can't afford $50 on a video game and those $50 make a difference for you then I'd wager spending money on video-games shouldn't be your past time.

Far be it from me to teach you life - yet when I lived on $20 / month and was trying to get out of that - yeah, I wasn't buying video-games. I didn't even have time to play them since I was working my tail off to get out of being broke.

shave your legs and butt, buy knee-high socks and wear girls' underpants and sell it. Make sure that you can't see the boom in the photo. You can also sell bottled farts. as soon as any 40-50 year old thinks it comes from a woman, you can sell anything. It's the illusion that counts.
Use the first money to buy yourself something decent to eat.

Or grab a pet for a few hours, if you don't have one go for a walk from a frends dog. Film the dog eating, stroking and doing tricks. here the right platform would be tiktok, there are so many animal-loving women who will donate enough for the game and a graphics card.

If you have that little on your account you should definitely not get this game.

If you are broke, spend money on food and wait for sale.

Well if you're broke, especially at this time of year, don't gamble on a full price new game.

Get something that is on deep sale, has massively positive reviews, is fully patched up and is in a genre you know you love. If possible, something that offers masses of play time.

You can almost guarantee yourself a great time for under ten dollars, especially at this time of year. BG3 will only get better and cheaper over time, and you will have $40 or more left over to spend on other things. Including more games if that's what you want.
