Let me cheat!
I have this game modded, already beat vanilla a couple times. All i wanted was to exploit the container/vendor glitch. LET ME DO MY THANG!! GIVE ME THE EXPLOIT BACK! :)

No exploits for you

Was a bit annoyed to see they did a hotpatch almost specifically for this....

I love this game but having spent about 300h in it, I cba anymore with picking everything up and selling it. Just let me get the items I want and I don't have to keep slogging around with all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I was all about Larian until that. There are actual bugs and crashing issues to be fixed, and they "fix" that. Gave me Bungie vibes.

In addition: Funny how they pulled something an AAA company would right after they got GOTY.

Just grab a mod that allows it.

I steal like crazy in my game, patched and all. The risk of getting caught and escape shenanigans are all part of the fun.

Guess the only solution is to turn updates off and enable them only after careful vetting. Not a bad idea to simply not update at all during a play through.

Shoulda not updated I suppose.

If something like this was *it* for you, it sounds like you already had one foot out the door and just needed a reason 🤷‍♂️

They pushed the update a good while before they won goty. I was there, I saw it go up while watching the stream live.

Then I stand corrected. I didn't watch it. And I saw the two hotfixes last eve. My hope is that they don't start behaving as AAA's do.

For those who don't know, the exploit in question was selling an empty bag to a vendor, opening the bag in the vendor's inventory, putting the vendor's other items in the bag, then buying the bag back. The fix made it so the game adds the value of the items IN the bag to the bags value. You can still kinda of use the exploit by putting the items in the bag you just have to steal it from the vendor now.

you still can cheat. I ,for example, in my current second playthrough as Dark Urgue on tactician cheated 20k-40k of gold using one old program to save my time. I spent like 40 hours in sum savescumming while was robbing vendors in "Act 1" in my first playthrough. So... yeah..cheating some gold saved me a lot of time.

why though? i finished act2 with 40k without any cheats or exploits just sold almost every junk i could find...

gold is useless most of the game.

well... i'm playing "2 games": 1st a halfling bard on balanced, 2nd Dark Urgue dragonborn warrior on tactician. In 1st playthrough stealing stuff was really painful and tiresome. I spend 30-40 hours from 60h(steam showed this number) savescumming during checkrolls and stealing(most of that time). So cheating some gold at the start saved me hours in 2nd playthrough. I just played buying whatever i wanted without going into constant loop of "rob vendor - fail- load- rob vendor-success- save-rob again". in 2nd playthrough i did i rod vendor one or two times in goblin camp and only because i'm greedy person and didn't want to give those thousand of gold in that puny halfling's hands.
But i agree. Gold is mostly useless.
