STEAM/XBOX CROSS SAVE

Is anyone having difficulty loading cross saves between your PC and Xbox? I have all my accounts connected and have cross save enabled on both platforms. I noted that I tried to start a New Game and cross save it from the Xbox to try and jump start the connection and actually the Xbox save transferred seamlessly to my Steam/PC when I opened it, but it appears to be an issue getting the pre-existing PC saves to transfer/sync with Xbox - or kind of at all, there is a little indicator marked with an X that tells you when it has been Uploaded as a Cross Save but in my case that isn't appearing with PC at all.

What version is the game running on Xbox?

Is the Steam Cloud saving essential for Cross Save to work? I notice that it spends a lot of time saving and uploading the Steam Cloud sync and does not produce the Cross Save "X" the way it should. I have a feeling if I turn off Steam Cloud it could provide less "distraction" so to speak... but I think you need the cloud for saves to cross.

I noticed only my last recently played Steam save loaded to my Xbox.

I had to load a different character on my PC, and then do a resave, and it sync'd to Xbox. So if you have multiple character / saves, try reloading on PC and save it (so it is your "current" game) and check the xbox
