From what I have read ALT+F4 will not work. Use the methods mentioned here instead

A simple way without command line to save/reload is: kernel crash the game. You can use Task Manager to right click the process (bg3.exe for example) for context menu and then select "End Task." Not really a big deal on a fast machine and pci nvme ssd. You can restart and reload in like 10 seconds or so.
Then when you restart you go back to the save before whatever thing happened that would have wiped you or failed die roll. Skip the check integrity. I've not had any issues, and it can do weird things to save games, like reset all your settings and add new chests in camp.
If they secure that somehow (unlikely) or you do not have admin access on your machine to do it, you'll have to command line kill it.
Console players will have to likely pull the plug on power, unless they have priviliedged terminal access to the console.
Is there nowadays no reset button anymore?
I don't know if they can trap the reset. If not that would work too. Its easy to trap alt-f4, end task notso much.
Oh, I mean on consoles.
That seems similar to playing on Hardcore in an ARPG, and then make constant backups of characters in case they die. Kind of defeats the purpose of th gamemode.
You can save scum, you just can't tpk.
