Expect it to be added in a hotfix soon.
It's a common device in role-play gaming. Also, it's deletion upon party wipe - not an individual death. That doesn't sound THAT bad.
there are mods to do this exact thing but since i havent tried it i dont know if its buggy or not
I already have a great build in mind to solo Raphael on Honor mode but as I killed him now I have to start all over to get back to him and test it.
dont get me wrong i love difficulty in games. i played every difficulty mod in DOS2 and had a blast but forcing me to restart after 30 hours because a big robot crit me or because this 8 STR wizard got the luckiest roll of their life and pushed me of the edge is gonna make me not play it without mods.
already found a mod that adds the honour mode stuff to every difficulty as good as it could but idk if i should hold of and pray for an "official" version of that mod or if i should just play modded
I had zero issues even without that but if you want to have peace of mind it’s the easiest thing . Have her always cast bless on your characters and sanctuary on herself and have stay back and just toss heals.
I have yet to get to a point where i randomly got rekt, the closest call I had was lvl 3 with owlbears but as soon as i killed one of them it was cake- owlbear downs a character, Shadowheart gets him up, then the other 2 keeps hitting it. Then next turn it downs the character again, shadowheart lifts him up the other 2 keeps hitting it..
Really not that hard but a save game would let me try different builds as well as soloing it.
Too risky to solo on Honor as one bad roll can screw me over lol. But will def try to solo it soon anyways
I played with a group who wanted to have no reloading if something bad happened, but would reload if the bad thing was us all dying, so anyone else could die to our mistakes except us, which I felt was a total cop out.
Restart on wipe adds some real teeth to the difficulty, but I'm pretty sure you can just keep one person at the back and flee and then have withers revive your dead back in camp.
I mean it's not a forced mode, you have to specifically pick it and know what it entails before you decide to start.
It's also really tough to full wipe in this game unless you really mess up. You can almost always win the fight despite a character or two going down or pop an invis potion and retreat if absolutely necessary. Then you just go back to camp and res everybody with Withers.
from what the game told me if i got wiped i would continue in custom but i assumed i would be able to change around things as i would have been able to as if i selected custom. and since there is no options for honour mode changes in custom i wanted to make sure before committing any time to it
I was going to say, most fights can still be won with just three (or less) party members, so as long as someone is left at camp, you can't really 'die' unless you self-enforce a 'no res' rule and leave all dead party members permanently dead. This then forces you to keep as many companions (and Hirelings, I guess) around as backup pinch hitters, just in case.
