What difficulty did you play your first playthrough on?

Honor mode wasn't available back when I first played it. Heck. In EA, there weren't different modes, but it also didn't have a name. So... no idea what difficulty it was.

Tactician to learn the game. I tried to beat it Ironman. Shot one those tanks on the illithid ship within the first 10 minutes.

My first complete playthrough was Honor Mode, but I had done Acts 1 and 2 multiple times before Honor Mode released. I'm just one of those people who changes their mind and starts over a lot.

I`ve started like 6 times already and a couple hundreds of hours in the game xD (though many if not most are with the game minimized) but I haven`t finished one playthrough.

With all this and no idea of 5e, i started with Balanced. After all these hours and now my 7th attempt of doing an entire playthrough I went Tactician, I`ve spent enough time in bg3.wiki to finally be familiar with the implemented ruleset xD Said this I haven`t notice much of a difference in difficulty increase other than in the bosses the increased health and damage sometimes has screwed me. Honor mode is a hell nope for me, still I like to save scum in choices or when trying different ideas of how to deal with something and see the different outcomes.

Balanced. my only expierence with dnd was playing solasta.

I kinda wish Honor Mode was available. I have trouble preventing myself from save scumming so I tailored my first playthrough to much. I did my first playthrough on Tactician. I feel it is good difficulty for a first playthrough. For a second playthrough even honor mode feels too easy. I just finished act 2 and only 1 fight came close to being difficult.
