So is there no friendship option?
Like am i not allowed to be friendly with anyone? is every single group member i talk to and am nice with suddenly going to try sleeping with me? Like why tf does a simple magic lesson with Gale suddenly turn into him wanting to make out with me? Who the hell wrote this? It doesnt even make sense for my play through. 1 i never take Gale literally anywhere and 2 i haven't given him a single magical item so should he not hate me at this point? This just seems so forced it's borderline predatory at this point like who actually thought this was in any way a good idea. I think i've been pretty clear with the game and in my play through who i want my character to be with i find it insane that a simple magic lesson can screw that completely up.

I actually get this though cause I WANT bromances.

I WANT to learn magic with gale I want to see Wyll dance cause that's what my bro Wyll is into - like fix everything else, more endings all that other stuff

but like this isn't a gay/straight thing this is a friend thing if you COULD give us ways to do some of that stuff without it causing awkward moments I'd appreciate it.

(I have a legacy main save from when the game first came out and poor gale was devistated when I got with Lazel and I felt super bad. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW I WAS LEADING HIM ON I THOUGHT WE WERE HANGING OUT. Then he's like "I'm sorry but it can only be one of us."

like omg this is what girls who hear "Friendzone" feel like lol please make the bromance possible without gay heartbreak lol

That's not the point tho. I should be able to have a simple magic lesson without it turning into something else when there's literally been no interaction between me and gale besides me pulling him out of the portal and him asking for magical items. It's simply bad writing and planning on Larians part. This dude in my current play through has absolutely no reason to like me let alone love me. Also isn't he in love with the literal goddess of magic or w.e? It simply make no sense.

It's an option for roleplay, just choose the platonic options and you'll have plenty of just-friends.

The only option is to say no to the lesson. That's not exactly what i'd call RP.

What do you mean there literally is a platonic option.

It may have been added later, but there's definitely an "imagine being super best friends enjoying a feast" option or something like that and it isn't romantic at all and the scene ends completely platonically.

i literally just played through it and that is definitely not an option. You either do the lesson or you don't and if you do the magic lesson it plays out a very odd scene that makes absolutely no sense for my play through.

You can have the magic lesson, and THEN tell Gale, "sorry, mate, let's just be friends". You also can dance with Wyll, and then tell him, "nice dance, but let's just be friends".

That was the case the last time I saw it, and I don't think patches have changed it.

IRL, people accidentally cross the friendzone by mistake too, just saying. People handle it a variety of ways. Killing the person seems an over-reaction, maybe fine in a video game, hope you don't take that approach IRL.

Eh, for this one I'd assume ignorance or inattentiveness over malice.
