Stealing the Idol of Silvanus

Managed to take the Idol without triggering the Druids purging the outsiders by un-bottling the creature you can take from the caravan chest, which killed everyone performing the ritual and reduced the amount of eyes on the Idol to zero, after that I was able to just take it without issue.

I was expecting this would trigger something, or enable some new dialogue, but no one seems to care. Druids and Tieflings both. Can even drop it out of my inventory right in front of Kagha, but no reactions whatsoever.

Is there something specific I can do with it that I'm missing? Was really hoping taking the Idol would lead to some other way to solve the questline.

Two things will result immediately. The ritual to close the grove will obviously not proceed. And you now have the Idol to complete the quest that it is involved in.

Other ramifications may manifest once you Long Rest. So, be prepared for consequences. :)

the specific thing you can do is give it to a character. You might not have met them yet

There's someone who wants you to steal it and will reward you if you do. Or, they say they will; I never tried to steal it.

Only problem i had when i stole it was the buff it gives constantly spamming in the combat window....

I don't know. In my case though the druids are not hostile to me, but technically my party didn't kill them, the unbottled monster did haha.
