You're still a Paladin just a different variant to the one you selected at game start, Oathbreaker is basically a hidden subclass with its own features.
Long rest and you'll have a Oathbreaker paladin arrive at your camp. You can either take his test to get your oathbreaker powers or pay him 1000 gold to regain your Oath.
(Also Tieflings aren't monsters. They're a humanoid race like any other)
I think we need to become oathbreaker first to go back to regular paladin oath
Nah I didn't get it after killing karlach I killed karlach minute I saw it down the river I got the oathbreaker thing at least 10 hours after I killed karlach.
Like some guys said in first comments It was probably due to looting/stealing and asking for money to people I save and do favors
Doing something that guards don't like will break your oath. Stealing, trespassing, etc. This is probably why.
Requesting money from others doesn't break your oath. If it ends up in a fight, then maybe.
Additionally, it could have been something act-specific. Every Act has choices and actions that will break your oath.
that aside, karlach IS a paladin at heart. Tieflings have demonic blood, but are not evil by nature. They are in a catch 22 of sorts... people see a demon and judge them, making them resort to crime etc as they struggle to get jobs or be accepted in normal societies and having to live in ghettos or outskirts etc. Likewise some warlocks are bound to less than evil entities, though nothing goodly is likely the fey are neutralish. Who do you even consider to be 'good' in this game? Very few outside your party would meet your standards, and in your potential party, half of those are out.
I would say she's chaotic good or possibly neutral good.
Definitely not a devil and Paladins can usually sense these things, so you wilfully attacking a goodie who was giving you every reason not to......
