Missable content
I seem to remember spending 50 hours in Act 1. I did not move on until I thought I had thoroughly explored the map and completed every side quest I had. Yet, as I'm reading the Steam forums, I'm gradually finding out about content I somehow missed: I never got the quest with the hag, never met a dog or an owlbear cub, and I did not hear the tiefling bard sing.

These seem to be colorful events spicing up the story, too bad they are so easy to miss. Or I may have been just clumsy, I don't know.

Dog is hard to miss, bard is easy to miss. Owlbear cub is right in there with the goblins, if you went in to talk to them kinda hard to miss. Personally I missed the kid at the water's edge completely.

I’m almost 90h and still act 1, is it that bad?

The hag is one of the quests leads to help get rid of your tadpole. It starts when you talk with the ingredient trader in the druid grove.

I missed the owlbear cub too because you have to do a few things for it to show up at the goblin camp instead of the chicken.

One word: replayabvility.

Larian themselves said theres a lot of things players haven't discovered yet.

I wonder how they keep track of that.

I've finished the game once and I have 2 solo and 1 multiplayer games in progress. I still discover different things, different forking on quests and definitely still miss a lot of things compared to the list posted. This game is huge.

The same way they track all statistics in the game like who was rejected by astarion, how many classes and what classes, what the most made characters are... I think you get the idea lol

I'm a data analyst (not for Larian) and the amount of data that gets collected from people when they tick the little "yup I agree" box is both incredible and frightening.

I can see how those data get submitted under certain conditions. But because of how I play it, with surpressing such data from getting transmitted, I am rather confused. The chances that someone discovered this or that without that discovery being tracked because they play on an "always-offline" gaming laptop to seperate their PCs e.g. is there. And there are plenty of Linux users etc. with similar setups without separating their PCs. So it seems more than often to me that maybe someone already discovered this and that and it just never got tracked and reported, especially if it is by those who avoid social media and such.

Yeah, I get that about the abundance of hidden content and replayability. It's just that the things I mentioned (such as the presence of a high-production-value song early in the game) can elevate the experience for many so if I were to make that decision, I would showcase it instead of hiding it.

Well, it is part of the game's strength that such is not showcased but rather a reward for explorers.

That underlines my point: I have a security setup which is so strict that by default apps are not allowed to make such an internet connection, regardless of agreeing or not. In fact I have to turn my security app off first and switch to a weaker one before I can use basic apps like cloud services. That means Larian Studios cannot track my data as the game is like running on an offline PC.
