Better still... Get another PC on the same LAN, map your gamesave folder in your other PC (or laptop) and copy your save files there, naming them as you wish, without needing to interrupt the game run.
I'd advise doing this for death bug prevention only though, otherwise, why honour mode at all? Just play tactician, or use a difficulty mod.
If you game over due to a party wipe in Honour Mode, you can continue the savegame and it will be treated as custom mode with Honour Mode difficulty. That might be just what you are asking for.

Either that, or you intentionally game over early to trigger the multiple save games.
It is a much bigger bother if you have to end your run because the game is stuck rather than a proper game over. Happy Adventuring ~
