Honour mode without perma death?
As title suggest. Is there a way to possibly do this? I love the difficulty of honour mode, especially the legendary actions, but hate the no saving and perma deaths. I've already finished one honour mode playthrough and would like to have a less stressfull experience where I don't have to fear my run ending because four mind-flayers decided to spam mind blast (and my party subsequently deciding not to save a single one of them) or have my run end because the lift taking us to the shadowfell fountain suddenly decided to lose it's collision and all of us plummeting to our death.

I looked at the custom difficulty option and nowhere could I find a way to toggle the legendary actions. Though I could have toggled the perma death lol

Find your gamesave directory. Make a copy of it somewhere in your PC. Done.
Better still... Get another PC on the same LAN, map your gamesave folder in your other PC (or laptop) and copy your save files there, naming them as you wish, without needing to interrupt the game run.
I'd advise doing this for death bug prevention only though, otherwise, why honour mode at all? Just play tactician, or use a difficulty mod.

If you game over due to a party wipe in Honour Mode, you can continue the savegame and it will be treated as custom mode with Honour Mode difficulty. That might be just what you are asking for.

Oh well in that case I suppose it's fine then

Because I just want the added difficulty of honour mode without the save restrictions. I can controll myself not to savescum, but if I game over and it deletes my file is not something I am particularly hyped about. But as the other poster above mentioned it apparently only deactivates the achievement if you die and continue, so I'm probably good then

I still recommend to take note of this method to emergency escape/reload a bugged situation

Either that, or you intentionally game over early to trigger the multiple save games.
It is a much bigger bother if you have to end your run because the game is stuck rather than a proper game over. Happy Adventuring ~ :spacehamster:
