or an item spell, forgot which item has it though
Seems pretty self evident doesn't it?
To add insult to injury, it's only available to Warlocks (I couldn't find any reference to it being available on an item...), and the generally accepted best Warlock subclass is Fiend... which also grants tHP.
Now I don't know how the game does it, but in tabletop rules, as soon as you kill something as a Fiend warlock, you lose Armor of Agathys altogether.
Oh, this is BAIT, isn't it?
K.
In tabletop, when you receive a source of THP while already benefiting from a source of THP, you choose which source persists (generally allowing players to pick either the source that has the better rider or the source that has the bigger pool).
I think you just described the best dragon. Enjoy your dragon politics - I'll be eating my frozen nuggies and [Redacted].
Also, white dragons are second best draggies in D&D (after green draggies).
And let's not forget the most important reason of all! Let's put aside the fact that chromatic dragons are the types of dragons who are the least likely to mate with humans considering their superiority complex (suspension of disbelief mixed in with extenuating circumstances or some lore-based exception can always turn that rule around). But it cannot be ignored that White Dragons are basically creatures of instinct, not intelligence. They would never have a reason nor a cause to procreate with elves or humans. This goes beyond the suspension of disbelief and into asspull territory. The humanoids of Elturel may as well be into unironic bestiality at that point.
