When can I romance Karlach?

My first playthrough I romanced Shadowheart.
This one I'm a lil gnome guy and am trying to romance Karlach.
I'm near the middle of act 2 I think and still no indication that she's interested.
Meanwhile, pretty much everybody else has tried to seduce me. Gale, Shadowheart early on. Then Asturian did and now Wyl tried to get me to dance with him.

I keep breaking hearts as I pine for my darling Karlach. She's too busy cracking skulls.

You....didn't get infernal iron to Damon to get her first repair before you left Act 1, did you? Because if you didn't, you missed your chance.

Yes I did. First repair happened in Act One. Second repair now done (in Act 2).
Maybe she's just not into short men (gnome).
I am starting to think gnomie is gonna be a bachelor for life. Poor fella.

you can start somewhere in act 1, i prompted mine rather then the other way around, though maybe if i did more things she liked earlier that could have changed.

You missed or messed up some dialog option along the way.

Right from the start. Unless you managed to mess up something. At latest when the final repair at Dammon's happens as long as you did not involve yourself in another romance.
