Polearm Master damage, bug or intentional?

Is the damage from the feat Polearm Master's bonus action supposed to not take into account Divine Smite, Improved Divine Smite and weapon damage bonuses (like, magical weapons that do extra fire damage for example), or is this a bug? The wiki calls it a bug that this is the case. Do we have confirmation of any sort?

you absolutely should be able to Divine Smite with the Polearm Masters bonus action attack, and it'll apply any damage riders you have for weapon attacks. it's still a weapon attack, so it still qualifies.

RAW 5e it should work, but for all I know Larian might have done it like this intentionally. Tho it is a bit of a strange place to draw the line if that's the case, considering some of the silly stronk builds you can make

When you say should be able to do you mean you currently can and I somehow missed it or do you mean Larian should make it so that you can?

I'm pretty sure in 5e, you can, but Larian might have decided otherwise so I'm not sure.

did you make sure you have your smites turned on in the reaction menu?

Well that's the other thing I have it turned on as "Ask" for all the smite options, but it seems to only ask for 1st level smites and I'd have to do it manually other than that. Every other time it only asks when I pull off a critical.

Okay nevermind I got it to work. Had to check the box on the left too. Duh. So that's sorted.

Yeah I remember ticking the "ask" box and thought that turned it on but apparently not. Forgot there was a second box. Thanks.

Would be nice to have Improved Divine Smite too though. I guess it's probably a bug after all. Would be weird to have Divine Smite but not Improved Divine Smite.
