If anybody else attacks the tieflings, incidentally, and they become hostile, and your paladin strikes the second blow ... no problem for your oath. (AFAIK, this is only an issue for Devotion Oath. The basic commandment of Devotion Oath is, "thou shalt not strike first the yellow/neutral."
Will the 'avoid her' idea work?
I'm disappointed in the writing. It's debatable, if they react with violence...
It could easily be a {Persuasion} option instead even though the option might be a little misleading. (They don't seem to mind her wandering around the Grove, though. So, I guess they're fine with your character dealing with her however.)
I had a similar reaction.
She should start the fight with the tieflings and then you can stand there and watch if you are averse to personal violence.
Thanks; that's good to know, but I'd have to restart, and don't like the writing still.
