Final Battle Question
I know you still have to choose the three you want to bring with you. But do the ones you leave in camp at least show up as allies? It just feels so weird, storywise, that they would be sitting around and doing nothing.

I don't think they do no, I think you can only call in the people you want for allies. Thats, actually a point I never considered until now

It'd be nice if you could change them in the ruins of that tower. Special dialogue box of "I need (insert name here), find camp and bring them" to swap

That was true in WotR. Well, it was sorta weird. Out of your 11 or so camp followers, 6 would go inside the final dungeon for your final mission. Your Team B of the other 5 camp followers had to also fight a battle outside the dungeon (but after it was over, that was the last of that.) It also was kinda bugged like many other things.

Gather Your Allies carries possible buffs from Jaheira and Halsin (won't see them), but if they're not there, they're not there. You will always see them in the Final Hall even if you didn't take them. Cheering you on.

The gang is all there at the pier scene afterwards, though they don't always have stuff to say. Likewise whoever's not, well, dead or gone, can show up in the Epilogue.

That warning once you get in the Skiff to head to the Morphic pool - "warning, you cannot go back to camp at this point" - yeah, the game means it. You have made final choices past that point.

The funniest thing about that fight is my B team being unleveled and unequipped the first time

Nope, you can imagine that they are fighting elsewhere, but the rest of your party don't show up before the final cut scenes.

Yeah they just chill at camp, but when you go back to camp and you interact with them they act as if they were right there with you. Or in the Epilogue

Thanks, everyone. That's disappointing. Would've been cool to take them all or switch them during the fight or just have them there helping. Makes me tempted to get that mod that lets you have more than four party members, but that feels like the kinda mod that could break the game, and I don't think I wanna risk it this close to the end.

It doesn't break the game, it's called Party Limit Begone, it has "issues" but there are simple workarounds for it.

I bring six characters to the final battle. Not in my first playthrough, but ever since.

I sometimes bring hirelings into the final battle, but they are not in the pier scene. Why do I not get to say goodbye to Brianna or Kerz or whomever? Sheesh Larian. I kid. But it would be nice. Sometimes hirelings have really saved my party's bacon.

It is like any other fight. You pick the team going in and stick with it.

If you freed orpheus he will join you and he can become Illithid

All the allies you have been arranging for like the guild can be summoned during the fight. They are just cannon fodder.

The final fight is a gimmick fight. The dragon can be held with Hold Monster and killed easily with a strong melee fighter critting him over and over. The graphics are bugged pretty bad as the camera has serious whiplash. All that matters is the brain.

I liked all the fights getting to the brain. the whole brain thing is just stupid beyond belief. The game has a terrible ending.

I'm sure that it works for the most part, and I do think it'll be fun to try maybe in my next run. But any mod has potential to make something go wrong, and ones that change how a game works seem to have more potential than mods that add or change small or cosmetic things.

It's less that I think I can't do it (I made it this far, even if a couple fights took me more than one attempt, so I'm willing to at least try) and more that it just feels weird to not have everyone working together when I went through so much to get them and help them and they all want to help in the fight.

I never took anyone. Not ever. Not necessary. But I did like to collect all the people who would have my back.
