Where is the difference: Dark urge Origin Char vs. custom char make evil choices
Hi all,

Please the the question in the topic. Where is the difference?

And there comes another question to my mind. How often did you finish the game? I’m on my first ein as a good bard and I’m asking myself how many time I have to play the game to see a lot of different things

Dark Urge has a specific storyline, as do all of the origin characters. A custom character doesn't have a personal storyline outside of your own imagination. Second question the answer is probably three. One as Dark Urge, and two other times either custom or another origin character will get your to see just about every quest, although not every single outcome.

the dark urge continues a bit of the BG1 story, with a bit of a twist.

you can see most of the game in 3 playthroughs, by picking different companions (or brutally, taking them all to camp and doing each one's thing swapping around, but that is a chore and a half). Aside from companion questlines/story, you have the urge, which is its own thing, and then picking who you ally with in the various acts and whether you generally play the nice guy or not... but much of the story lines condense into 2, maybe 3 tops, options -- usually some form of "fight or don't fight" or "join us or join them" (and of course, walk away /ignore for a number of them).
If you really go all in on seeing every choice, 5-6 may be more like it but I think that is way overkill.

I replay to test builds, and because I like the game, but after a while, you pretty much have it memorized. It feels a little smaller each time you play.

Dark Urge has unique backstory and plot elements that aren't included if you play a custom character. And you can play Dark Urge while trying to resisting the urges so you're not forced to play evil. I had my good run as Dark Urge.

I've finished the game three times and there are still things in the game that I haven't seen or done.

The Dark Urge has a series of urges that can and will force your hand into doing things you wouldn't normally do in a playthrough you can resist MOST of them but there are a few the game will make you do regardless of your choices. Personally I don't like that there are some that are forced, but to each their own. There are ways to go about this personally I'd say this is an origin that is VERY tricky to handle and can make the game harder for you, the real question is do the pros of taking it outway the cons; for me I'm going with a custom character for the first run and will play the Urge second, its not a playthrough anyone would recommend your first time thru the game take a custom origin. Essentially Dark Urge is an origin with character customization but its own distinct story that you can choose to follow with varying degree of choice, where as the Custom is a blank slate to experiance the game without any preexisting baggage but in return you get completely freedom in how you are going to play without any factors cropping up that could mess up your build
