So ... one origin companion is a cleric (Shadowheart)... she is the easiest to find. She was in the tutorial, and is the first you run into on the beach. You have one unless you told her to sod off ...
Paladin ...
1) hire Kerz the hireling
2) jump through hoops for Minthara (if it works, won't be till Act 2)
3) play one
If you don't want to do 3, then 1 is the quickest route.
And yes, Withers will respec anyone.
4) change some other companions class to a paladin.
Though the question is, why do they NEED cleric and paladin?
Withers has answers on other ways of getting those, though.
And once again, if you can't wait, there's a druid hireling you can recruit from Withers.
As others have said - not to my taste, but it's your game - all companions can be class respec'd, though theoretically that means losing a class to gain a class. Also, everybody can multi class.
Nothing is stopping you from multi-classing one into druid or paladin.
But you can respec anyone to any class. This may make no sense, as in "why my paladin going on about shar/his demon mistress/the weave" but it works fine. There are also blank companions of almost every race you can spec out to anything as you like, they have no story etc. The character KARLACH would make an EXCELLENT paladin and it fits her pretty well. LAZEL could also be a paladin, and it would not seem too weird. Druid would not really fit any of the act 1 team for personality and behavior and backstory.
you can also roll multiple player created characters, but its a bit of a work-around.
Before midway through Act 2, only druid option is either a Hireling from Withers or to use Withers to respec a companion into one if your main character isn't one. Only Paladin option aside from those two methods is Minthara and you either have to make a very evil choice to recruit her ( Which WILL lose you two companions and possibly a third if you fail some persuasion rolls ) OR use a slightly complicated "bug recently made legitimate" method that involves knocking her out when she's temporarily hostile at the Goblin camp.
How are the Tieflings "not very nice"? Unless you're deliberately going through and antagonizing them. ( Or actively leading danger to their doorstep putting their kids at risk like the NPC adventurers did ).
They will, if you talk to them, actively recruit you to steal and murder. And if I need to tell you how awful the druids are, you should replay it.
