Family share-2 player mode
I'm considering buying BG3 so my wife and I can play. I have 2 options, buy it on ps5 so we can split screen on the couch, or buy it on steam where we have a family sharing. Can we do the 2 player mode on 2 pcs in the same house (a lan game?) or do we have to split screen on the same pc? Thanks.

There is no split screen option for PC. And I honestly don't know if Family Share allows 2 people to be logged into the same game at the same time and multiplayer together.

Yes.

I recommend buying it on Playstation 5 though based on what you wrote.

Of course there is. The only limitation is that you need controllers for split-screen game, but it works on a PC just fine.

Controllers aren't an issue, it's more of just being on 2 different devices vs a split screen on the couch.

I mean, for some people needing to use 2 controllers when you only own a PC and not a console can be an issue. And I was talking about split screen on PC, so you are using just one device. Where you have it and if you sit on chairs or on couch is a different story.

'Family Share' means that multiple people can access the game. However, only ONE person can access the Share Library at a time. So, it won't work for you and your significant other to play together.

On PC, you would need two Steam Accounts and each would have to have BG3 purchased on their account. Then you would use standard BG3 Multi-Player, not Family Share.

My wife and I regularly play split-screen on PC. I have two monitors and two controllers; switch the game to windowed mode and stretch it across both monitors and it works great.

It's possible through family sharing and 2 PCs if that's preferablr. Dont think it should be any issue in saying it, Larian made it possible, but all the same, send me a friend request if you want me to tell you how
