each one will have instructions, though i believe people recommend using their launcher to avoid several issues.

If you're diving into modding for the first time, collections are a lifesaver. They're pre-built mod lists, and everything inside is designed to work seamlessly together. The collection I use is fantastic—just give the page a read, and it'll guide you through the entire process. I highly recommend going premium for a few extra bucks; it's worth it.

Go to nexusmods, find BG3 mod manager, download mods and follow instructions for install

Download from Nexus. Read about Bug Reports first. Check when it was last updated. It it has not been updated in months, it could be abandonware and less likely to work with recent patches. Check requirements. Some require Norbyte's Script Extender, Compatibility Framework, or VFX addons you may need to add first.

Strong recommendation: use a Mod Manager. I think some folks on Windows use Vortex, others the BG3 Mod Manager. A lot of folks seem to think the latter is better. A mod manager helps you more easily disable or remove mods and adjust their load order. (I use the Mac Mod Manager. Kudos to the author. Works very well.)

Caution is recommended. SOME mods if you have in a save and then you disable them, you may not be able to load that save. Be careful, YES, there ARE ones that can bork your game or make it crash. It is not without risk - why you should read Bug Reports. On Honor mode, I honestly wouldn't recommend it, but it's your game.

Final piece of advice: have fun. Personally, I am having a blast trying out new spells, new classes, subclasses, races, and items. It's this and actually continuing to learn about things I missed seeing or doing in the vanilla game that had me doing multiple playthroughs. Having a party of six or seeing what you can try out when some classes level to 13-20. Some are ridiculously OP. That does not bother me. But then, people are different. :steamhappy:

my game is basically full of texture mods and additional weapons... Thats all I used it for

some of the best mods are on nexusmods with a caveat, if you want to alter/change certain NPC's and romance options, Nexus will not host the mods, and you will have to google search for them.

Nexus mods requires you to create a new account with them, forces you to create a screen name, forbids you to use your email address as the screen name, and doesn't integrate natively with Steam? pass.

This post is from Jan and resolved. No need to resurrect it.

nexus is the standard for many games, including the every bethesda game ever. you're shooting yourself in the foot.

I am going to disagree with this, because some people don't update their collections when mods get abandoned and whatnot, and a newbie won't know what to look for when it comes to finding out why their game won't work when they just downloaded a collection.

Resurrecting this post from Jan requires updating the answer:

1. In game mod manager/mod.io for many.
2. Nexus and external mod manager for those that haven't yet, won't, or can't migrate to mod.io. Check compatibility with Patch 7, especially for older Nexus mods that haven't updated.
