Is act 3 performance a bit worse than act 1 and 2?
I've made it into act 3 now a couple of days ago and while I had no problem with act 1 and 2 (80 to 100+fps) act 3 seems to have worse performance. It often gets worse after a couple of hours. Drivers and everything else is updated and the game is on a SSD. No other game produces the issue. Like for example Cyberpunk 2077 runs more stable at a mix of high/highest settings at 80fps.
I heard that act 3 is generally not as fleshed out and "still in alpha state" as the other acts so I was wondering if it's a normal issue. I tried changing settings but it really doesn't do much for me and fps are still 55 to 58 but can get worse after a couple of hours in session.
Could the amount of savegames affect performance? I have quite a lot of these and I was thinking about making some room as it could be bloating. Or maybe it's me having the browser open in steam overlay as I sometimes need to look up things about quests and my build.

CPU: R5 3600
GPU: RTX 3060
Ram: 16GB

Checking Task manager also doesn't seem to show any high numbers in usage and performance monitors show normal temperatures at 60°C.

Yes

It is. Primarily because of the vast increase in local NPCs and Structures. Way better than it used to be, of course. The fix for the permanent 'Check for Thief Spotting' bug took care of the really big problem. Some additional optimizations helped as well. But still might want to take the graphics down a notch to help the FPS. :)

it's a lot worse. They are improving it but very slowly

Make sure to have Dynamic crowds off, I also locked my rate at 40fps instead of 60 and I played the game on Medium.

There was bottle necks in the 3 act, but was doable.

I turned the dynamic crowds off already but it seems for some reason every time I start the game it re-enables it.
Also I thought the game was fully done already and the updates were complete as it has won awards in categories already. Seems like there's still fixes to come then.

It's a bit worse but I only have fps drops in areas with huge amounts of npc's.

A very large number of Saves can impact your performance. But only when the game or you are making a save, not during general play. Note that having Cloud Saves on will seriously impact save times as you are making TWO copies of the save AND one is going over the internet. :(

My issues in Act 3 were fixed since patch 5 - I don't really have drops or freezes anymore but I also keep my save files pretty minimal and clear my cloud often
