What would the writing/plot/characters had been like were Chris Avellone involved?
A.k.a. the guy responsible for probably the best FR story in a CRPG (Mask of the Betrayer).

There would have probably been less moping teen angst amongst the party and everyone around, Gale would have had something of PoE's Durance in him (having been screwed over (albeit more literally) by the goddess he worshipped), and the main story would not be a rapist squid acceptance manifesto, instead actually being a tale of existential dread about risking to lose oneself at any moment.

Romance no longer a focus, with Astarion free from embodying the most obnoxious stereotype of a vampire twink.

And adding a Kreia-like (perhaps the role the dream visitor would have taken) character whose function is to explain as to what a circus the the setting has become these days.

It would have been like what Chris Avellone would have written. There are several things out there already that are available to play if you really want that.

If you're not a fan of the BG3 story, that's okay, but it's still the BG3 story and not another Avellone story.

Characters would be more exotic, their convos less trivial, and personalities even more multifaceted. The story would likely be more unique, as Chris is ultra talented.

Just take a look at PS:T, less like a game and more like an e book.

There'd probably be a character who was a janitor in one of the nine hells, all of the dialogue with said character would just be long winded paragraphs of them describing their past going into extreme detail on them cleaning the infernal toilets with a tooth brush.

The conclusion of their quest would be finding said infernal tooth brush which actually is a sentient item which houses their own soul.

Don't see how these could be mutually exclusive?

Unless it's supposed to mean something along the lines of "it's ♥♥♥♥♥, but at least it's not yet another Avellone plot"?
