Game crash during act 3 cutscene in 2nd play
It is perfectly fine during my 1st gameplay, with ultra high graphic setting.

For the 2nd gameplay, the game is keep crashing during a cutscene where a dragon flies towards a nautiloid (triggering by reaching under the brainstem in High Hall).

With GTX 3080. Unmodded. Dropped graphics to medium. updated drivers. Verified game document. Using DirectX 11. All don't work. It is despair when the game is unplayable right before the final battle. I don't know if I should keep playing this game and start another campaign.

Is 'unmodded' mean 'Never been Modded' on your game?

If it has never been Modded, then check the number of save files on your game and also if Cloud Saves are enabled for BG3 try turning them OFF (at least until you get past this point).

Lots of saves can affect some systems (but not all). So it is worth getting rid of ones no longer needed.

Other than that there are a number of more complex steps that require clearing your game cache and other non-essential files to try and recover stability. Can search the forum here for 'Cache' and you should come up with the post detailing the steps.

Thank you for your comment. Yes I have never been modded on my game, and my number of saves files is also ridiculously high. I have cleaned the saves and the cache but the problem's still there. Thanks for your help. Hope the dev would patch it.

That particular area is one of the heaviest impacted for CPU and GPU resources, I have found. My system slowed markedly in that small location.

What kind of crash are you experiencing? Lock up? Crash to Desktop? Any error message or anything in your system logs?

I would not assume a BG3 bug. It works for far to many folks for it to be a general bug. More investigation is needed on your system first, I think.

Have you checked your CPU & GPU stats? Usage and temps during the time when the system fails? I use MSI Afterburner which can keep a time stamped graph of the stats.

Crash to desktop.

Thanks for your reminder. I wonder would a bunch of elementals (8 bats) in that scene cause burden to the hardware. I cancel them all and the problem is solved. Thank you!

Glad to hear it is resolved for now, at least. :)

Hope it continues to work well!

Hey, I'm having this issue too and was just wondering what you did specifically to fix it? You just got rid of summons?
