Question about Dark Urge
I have been spoiled to a few cutscenes of the Dark Urge talking, so I decided to try him.
I did a single edit to his appearance, I gave him a tail, and I've noticed he does not have the same voice as his introduction.

I was told afterwards that if you have a custom character for Dark Urge, even just a minor change, it will count him as a custom character and you won't get the talk scenes where he speaks.

Is this true? Do I need to restart the game now before I get too far ahead? I just thought a dragonborn would look better with a tail, I didn't know it would have such a drastic outcome.

Edit:
I found that the cut-scenes are Orion pretending to be you. It uses any custom voice-line, so that choice doesn't matter.
Thanks for the feedback.

I think the OP is saying it is just the voice that changes, not the dialogue choices.

I was told I would no longer get cutscenes where he talks since I edited him. I am trying to find out if this is true, or hogwash.

I played a default look Durge and a custom one and neither had voice acted cut scenes. Both had Dark Urge dialogue options. I also didn't get any voice acted cut scenes when I played as Gale and Lae'zel so I'm not sure that's even a thing.

Your character doesn't get talk scenes, period, its not a thing regardless of origin or custom

Yep, all protagonists are unvoiced, including Origin Gale etc. AND if you have another party member doing the talking in an encounter, they are unvoiced also.

I've never heard that appearance changing a Dark Urge borks it, but haven't played.

I discovered it's Orion talking in the cutscenes - disguised as dark urge -, not your character, and she has a line to mimic you for every single voice type.

Cased closed everyone. Go home.

I discovered it's Orion talking in the cutscene - disguised as dark urge while mocking you, and she has a voiceline for every voice type so that she can pretend to be your custom character.

So being a custom character doesn't matter.
