***Spoilers*** ~ House of Hope question
Do I have to fight Raphael to leave this place? I accepted his deal, then came to break the contract. When I ripped up the contract, it alerted him and he's on his way. Meanwhile I also freed Hope. She just advised we go kill Raphael now. I was kinda hoping I could come and break the deal and not have to kill him, but it seems like that might not actually be an option. Is there any way to leave without fighting him?

I was hoping to leave him alive because I might end up giving the crown to him if I get it, but I wanted the contract gone so that if I give him the crown I'm giving it to him of my own choice, not because he's forcing my hand.

Breaking the contract or just stealing the hammer is the red line. There is no avoiding the confrontation at this point and you will not be able to give him the crown in the ending by having this confrontation.

Not sure about saving Hope but just exploring the House and having fun with Harlep will not trigger the confrontation.

Thanks. That's a bit of a bummer. I was hoping to keep his as an option for the finale, but if the game is forcing my hand here I guess I gotta poof him.

Just as an aside, one of the things I love about the Raphael fight is he will sing to you the whole time while it's happening. Such a theatric ham.

Get ready for it. It's a lovely song, if the lyrics are decidely creepy.

I'm going to give you one piece of advice: if you decide to have Hope use Divine Intervention in the fight, make sure she's protected against fire if you want her to live.

Good luck. MHO: it's the toughest in the game, NOT Ketheric/Apostle of Myrkul. OK, maybe that would be taking on Gortash at his inauguration, but I'm talking about for most people.

That fight is a gem.

Further tip: If you get fed up of him singing, use silence. Sadly doesn't work on Hope during the run through the house.

If you save hope without breaking the deal you will alert Raphael that will kill you in dialogue.

The contract isn't the soul it Is just giving the crown. If you want to break you have to kill him. Give the crown to Gale if Raphael Is defeated but you want to support him.

Just finished it! Yeah it was a good fight, but nothing stops my Lae'zel. Cast haste on Lae'zel = GG. Hope lived for me as well, didn't need to use divine intervention but did go though a lot of heals.
