[WITHERS] Speed Run Questions?

I am enjoying the hireling feature.

I am in Act3, and I finally spent some time spec'ing 2 attractive hirelings: a female half-elf hunter, a female human bard.

RP SIDENOTE: "Larian, if my 3 hetero ladies (Shadowheart, Angie & Belle) could speak, they would tell you that they are very offended at the false accusation that they each weigh 165lbs when they are not drawn that 'weigh' (pun intended). My hetero male human fighter is annoyed at this mistake as well."

For those who would decline the story companions and appeal to hirelings, they need to free Withers first thing. As such, I will define a WITHERS-SPEED-RUN as that which frees Withers as fast as the game mechanics will allow. This must also include the needed gold, without which Withers has no utility here.

Withers Speed Run questions:

What is the world record?
What is the best initial character spec?
What is the fastest way to get 200-300 gp?

I am hoping for some quality answers here. My plan is to do what is necessary to setup a permanent save game to be used for future playthrus having the entourage that suits me.

For all those who want/need to play the woke card against BG3 for exploring non-hetero themes, I can report that a hetero play-thru is possible. But it will require some extra effort at the start. The goal of this OP is to try and identify the fastest way to get there.

For all those who feel the urge to accuse me of being "unfair", I will decline to cite at least a dozen non-hetero game elements (companions and NPCs) and I'll ask you to point me to a single hetero (male or female, any race) companion or story NPC. Part of the modern meaning of woke involves an anti-hetero mindset. By this metric BG3 is woke.

Thus is my motive to identify a Withers Speed Run.

You can literally get Withers right after you get on the beach. However if you do not have good lockpick skills on your main, run up get Astarion.
(Also do not forget to check one of the barrels by the beach for thieves tools)
Go around the side of the ruins, there is a hatch you lockpick, go down boom you are in Withers tomb area.. Literally in his area where the 4 or so skeletons pop up when you open his door. So maybe a total of 10 mins prob less.

Thx. I'll check that out. IIRC access to his tomb is not without a serious leveled fight. So that would be problematic.

I did read, asked speed run on Withers, that is fastest way to get him. By the time you go back to your camp to use him you would have had to go to the grove to sell stuff,so assuming you loot everything you would have at least 100g to get at least 1 hireling. :)

Sure there is random gold laying around here and there but fastest way to get gold to use him is fight things and loot areas...

And if you go the route I suggest the only fight is the skeletons that pop up in his tomb.. You can totally sneak past the people outside the ruins. (Which I wouldnt call that a serious leveled fight anyway even if you were to aggro them.)

Yep, I already knew/know that method to acquire random wealth.

I'm looking for cheeze/hacks to get BOTH - WITHERS and GOLD - as fast as possible.

The Grove makes sense for access to vendors. There is a nasty goblin fight to get thru the front door. I am suggesting that there is no clear way to get withers and gold without forming a full party and doing all that is needed. But if I am wrong, if there is a faster cheezier way, then I'm interested.

Fun fact: you don't need to fight at the grove fight at all.

For anyone who hasn't done it it's pretty funny to start it and just run out of combat immediately. The NPCs there don't do so well, and you still get thanked for helping lol

If into speed run things, there is a super fast way to get Karlach also. Via room where Zevlor is at in the grove.

Thx, this helps too in the case where I've no choice but to form a full group to get the gold I need. Honestly, Karlach is part of the reason for this OP. So it would be a bit ironic to appeal to her utility to get whis needed to dismiss her.
