This is hilarious. We finished the goblin camp. I happened to do actions Gale especially liked and his approval of me is highest. At the party after, celebrating the victory everybody is telling me that Gale is my boyfriend and that I have "promised my body to Gale" and Gale himself told me after the party he wants to give me a "special lesson".

LOL I did not intend this. I was playing the character straight. But it decided I am gay. I am now trying to decide if I should embrace society pushing a sexual orientation onto me or if I should speak out and come out of the closet as straight.

I still dont get how people get themselves into this situation.
I presume it's triggered during the magic lesson.
All you have to do there, is make it stop after you successfully cast the spell instead of going into the menu that requires you to imagine doing something with him.

I have not, ever, encountered people outright stating I was together with someone.
The only thing I had was going for Karlachs Romance and then Gale being like "Oh you dont love me anymore" and all I had to do was say "Yo, but we still friends bro." and the thing was over.

This is a bug that one of the patches addressed, is your game up to date?

Having said that, the game is definitely an avoiding gay sex simulator like lankaras said lol. Larian made friendship and romance all the same affinity stat, so basically if you’re nice to your companions they will all be socially stunted and think it means you want to ♥♥♥♥ them. Still waiting in mods for fixing that

I played through Act 2 at least like 8 times and haven't encountered this anywhere before.

Another thing it might be, could be when you kiss Karlach after cooling her down, she will then point out, that you can spend time with the companion that you have highest approval with until you fix her engine.

yeah my game is up to date but it may also be because it's a save before the update went out too, still though it's a little annoying when I haven't even done anything with him yet or had the conversation yet and everyone immediately says I'm with him lol

will have to see if a fresh game has the issue too

A way to make this scene a lot less awkward for people who weren't interested in him is to trigger it during a long rest before the party. He has a completely different dialogue if you've already done it and nobody talks about you spending the night with him.

Anyways, you can always proposition a chica instead with a "I'd rather spend the night with you" which all 3 will be down for. Interesting enough, while I was playtesting manwhore Tav, I propositioned Astarion and Shadowheart with Wyll rejecting me. Then I reload and proposition Wyll and Astarion first while Shadowheart gives me the "I hate your guts" speech. I did manage to get to choose between all 3 girls at the bedroll, so I think as long as Shadowheart is one of the first 2 she doesn't get offended...

yeah this is why I quit the game, it was turning me gay and almost worked with the Gale scene. Was scary
