Shadowheart Quest SPOILERS
I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in how her quest ended. I am playing my game and I accidentally find the House of Grief. The next thing I know is that the people there recognize Shadowheart and boy are they pissed off at her! This got me very excited!

The next thing I know is that I am fighting Viconia DeVir. How awesome! I had become very attached to Shadowheart (yes I know, here come the incel jokes)

After a tough battle I finally kill Viconia DeVir. Fantastic! Shadowheart got her revenge! Then I get into a conversation with Viconia DeVir and it is with Tav. What, why? We just defeated the person that has caused Shadowheart tremendous pain, both physical AND mental and I do not get to have Shadowheart confront her. Instead it is Tav that gets that privilege. I wanted Shadowheart to get in her face and tell her off about all the lies! Hell it was a bigger deal and a longer cutscene when Shadowheart confronted the Nightsong.

Very disappointing.

You wanted Shadowheart to get in her face, but Shadowheart doesn't want that, she tells you as much, she doesn't care about what you do to Viconia, she just wants to see her parents.

Well, Shadowheart has been pretty aggressive throughout the entire game.At the very least she could have demanded to see her parents.

Pretty sure she says something about wanting to see her parents when you first talk to Viconia before the fight. And she definitely asks where her parents are after the fight, when Viconia is on the ground.

Did you get the dialogue with Viconia laying on the ground dying? I'm getting the impression from your comment that you didn't. If you didn't, if after defeating Viconia and you talk to her "corpse" she is standing as if nothing had happened, you likely encounter a bug, i encounter the same bug in my second playthrough and the fix for this is to ensure to have non lethal damage turned on when you do the "killing blow" against Viconia.

On the one hand, I had some small regrets about killing Viconia since she was a companion to me in BG2. But then, as Larian has officially said, she isn't exactly "that" Viconia (which could change her alignment if romanced/redeemed in ToB). Though Minsc and Jaheira will talk about remembering her. I don't spare her life, though there's no consequence to doing so. Even if you do she vanishes from the game. But I like to think she would seek revenge in the future, so why let her live? Shadowheart does take some satisfaction in giving the killing stab, which she always does.

As for her final dialogue ...

Yes, she's supposed to go "unconscious" sorta at 1 HP and lie on the ground till you can have the final convo. It's a wonderful confrontation scene, you can get the satisfaction of having Shadowheart stab her, but all she TELLS you is that her parents are being held in the room behind the door of the chamber you're in, something you could easily discover yourself, esp. if - as happened one time - something bugged (or maybe it was poison or bleed or who knows) and she just died period without this happening.

Of course, a new player who's read no meta material wouldn't know that.

Yes, I did get that dialogue but I got the dialogue with Tav, I was hoping that the dialogue with Viconia would be with Shadowheart.

When I saw on the ground I did talk with her, but unfortunately I had Tav selected and so the dialogue happened with him and not Shadowheart.

After the dialogue was over she was still on the ground so I went to loot her and when I did I was surprised to see an attack option so I clicked it and see died. Unfortunately I still had Tav selected so he got the final blow.

The dialogue with Viconia after the battle is bugged. I was playing origin Shadowheart and Viconia still was talking to me like if I was playing Tav lol.

There is a option after the fight where if you clicked the KO'd Viconia with Shadowheart you get the conversation you speak of with SH and Vic. This is when Viconia is only KO'd in the fight and left kind of sprawled on the ground with just 1 hp. She is totally at Shadowhearts mercy.

There I felt a sort of satisfying outcome is there, when SH actually kind of insults Viconia and lets her live in her sorry state. I do think a Command - Grovel spell by Shadowhear to Viconia before she leaves would be more thematic. LOL
This type of stuff is possible as the game leaves Vic with just 1hp with none of her minions around for Shadowheart to do as she pleases.
But as others said if the conversation doesnt bug out (like other have mentioned which also happened to me) then I feel SH's ending with Vic is pretty satisfying.

You knocked her out and got a dialogue with her, because I killed her in two playthroughs and there was no dialogue options for me.
Also Shadowheart doesn't really care for Viconia, she wants her parents back in that instant, but if you go to the quarters behind Nightsong she reacts to all the items lying there.

The real tragedy was ruining viconia character and making her a one dimensional bad guy

Shadowheart should say something during this dialogue, making clear that she doesn't care about Viconia, if you did get that. I genuinely don't understand the point you are making. Shadowheart doesn't care about Viconia, and makes it very clear why she doesn't care, and leaves it to you to deal with her however you see fit.

NICE! THIS IS THIS ENDING THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!
Thanks for telling me this, I will play it again and hope it works correctly.

I am saying that after being lied to all her life she SHOULD care and SHOULD be upset. If you read the other posts here the ending that other people got is the ending that I wanted.

Those lies helped her to become dark justicar and the chosen one after killing her own parents. Shadowheart Is angry because Viconia refuses to step down from her position but doesn't care much after she Is defeated.
