Ranking Thread - Let's see what everyone really thinks about everything in BG3 (A sort of bullet point review for Larian)

I was super surprised to see a lack of ranking threads:) So here is one ranking thread to end all ranking threads. LOL
I know it is a long list so fill out the categories ones you can. Basically list your top 1 or 3 or 5 etc for each category.
At the end of the day the purpose is to see how people stand. In a way I feel this type of bullet point summary will help us gauge into what people really like. More importantly I like to know how different others opinion is to mine.

No I love her just does not make the top 3 in most cases. Same for Wyll. I just think there stories were not as well expanded unfortunately. I would definitely love for more content on both their storylines from Larian.

BTW I would totally love to see your rankings. If writing for all of them is tedious just do the ones you can. Because it is more about getting to know what everyone likes and dislikes, We all dont need to agree just need to see where everyone is at.

and not rlly much of a three bc I havent finished act 3.

Fave Villains
1: Cazadore as he relates to Astarion
2: Ketheric Thorm especially due to him sharing the samr voice actor as Omni Man

4: Orin. Shes so spooky

They completely reconned viconia, she's much better in bg1 and 2 instead of what she is in 3.

[Goblin King Jareth]

1. Karlach = Lae'zel
Pure hearted snu snu makes for a tough choice between fragile ego tsundere. I am sure the former is healthier long term, minus the inhaling all the brimstone issues.
2. Shadowheart (hot, intriguing, but treacherous on the inside, a combination that has been my quite painful downfall IRL)
3. Gale - Solid Wizard storyline and demeanor.
4. Astarion - Solid Living/Daytime Challenged storyline and demeanor.

Wyll I actively dislike because he is like an entire circus of Mary Sue crammed into one character. Folk hero, one eye, succubus patron, I am very sad that I can't stop making deals with demons, I am very conflicted as a hero blah blah. I have misunderstood Karlach. It's just way too much in an already complicated narrative with tadpoles and what not. He feels like the edgy 14 year old rolled up the munchkin character with all this crap to try to either minmax or upstage every RP scene. He even introduces himself with a cringy catchphrase, one that doesn't even fit a warlock imo, perhaps a bard or rogue swashbuckler type would have been way more grounded.

Seems we have a lot of commonality.
About Lae'zel , Astarion as companions and Cazador , Katheric and Raphaeel as villains. I really liked Orin at the start no doubt. However I really hated her Slayer form. I have this thing where when you turn to some completely different looking monster I hate it with passion. In Raphael and Gortash's case the change was not a complete flip it was more of an upgrade.
I would have so loved if she stayed in her form and stayed consistent to her wacko riddler/harley quinn vibe.
Cazador , Katheric and Raphael fights were so inline with their characters and their theme. It just felt so cool. Plys the voice acting and sound track was cool!
Gortash I dont know he never felt like a villain to me tbh.

Only point we might disagree is with Gale I think. lol

I know and I agree with you.
But I am taking only BG3 into consideration and actually considering Viconia to be this new character, if you will.
When you think of her as a fresh BG3 character everything about her is so cool.
She is like a female equivalent of Cazador in terms of sadistic evil. I loved the actress and the character model they had for her. I loved the House of Grief fight and the setting. I liked how she was very consistent in her BG3 character.
I loved how vile yet very matter-of-fact she was. She is also a great argument against those who claim BG3 to be Woke. I love that they had a cut scene post her defeat without you letting her be killed in the fight. I always felt after-defeat scenes for villains where you didnt kill them are the best forms of comeuppance.
I only wished she had more dialog and cut scenes before the final stage at House of Grief. Of course others opinions might differ but for me she is one of the coolest characters in BG3.
I would love to see your list. I know I did too many lists so maybe you can just posts the ones you are interested in like the villains.

Auntie Ethel is the best villain I've seen in a long, long time. Mol and her theifling squad are really well done. I like the general vibe on all the gith. Of course I love the goblins, every one of them are really well done. (Tribe!)

Auntie Ethel is a riot! One of the most well made characters in a long time. She actually made me doubt whether she is really a villain 😆
Oh yes the Gith are amazing as you can see I have a liking towards them as well. I am surprised at the lack of Gith love.
