Party limit removal mod?
Does anyone else have any experiences with that mod, that removes party limit?

Mainly on the technical side, like if it will then always trigger whatever events fit best for characters?
Like when you run into the Gith for lae'zael, or people hunting astarion?

Or if it jammed up the story in other technical ways?

Game balance wise, really isn't the topic on this, though 😊

There's another thread on this - but of course at this point it may be on p4 or whatever. Party Limit Begone is the main one people are using, although BTW I think there's two others that eliminate the limit for single player - it AFAIK is the only one that can do it for multiplayer (requires patching your app), and still offers a "legacy" way to do it without Script Extender.

I'm using it. Its worst bug is a well documented one at this point. Don't try and get on the boat to Grymforge with more than 4 characters. Bad things will happen. It can be worked around it if you know about it. Other than that, it creates a minor issue in House of Hope, and sometimes you have trouble waking up your team after a long rest. (Don't panic, it usually involves clicking on people not resting by the fire.)

Yes, of course, game is balanced for a party of 4. Should note you have always been able to summon up to 10-12 creatures to tag along, mind. Of course, you can both in game and through mods increase the difficulty.

There is no limit once you use it, but I personally stick to a party of 6. It's something I'm used to in other games, beyond that you may have to scroll to see all portraits on the side, and beyond that pathfinding and getting people through doors without getting in each other's way becomes nightmarish. Should note with no hirelings, this means Tav at least at the beginning has to only leave behind 1 of the 6 origin companions at camp.

It doesn't interfere with events that trigger for companions. In fact, you will discover reactions and interactions you might not have seen before because, due to the limit, you never brought the companion that has it to the site/scene beforehand. Some you know have to be on the quest. Some however will have surprising reactions even though before you didn't think of bringing them along.

By endgame, when you can also have 3 hirelings, Halsin, and now ALSO Minthara, Jaheira, and Minsc at camp, you really grow to appreciate it. I really want to bring Minsc everywhere because his reactions are hilarious.

Thank you so much, for your extensive answer, that pretty much perfectly answers all the thoughts and wonderings i had!

And yeah, im also personally kinda thinking of either just sticking to 6, or -maybe- even going for bringing all 6 original characters along, just to also be able to play with, and get to know all of the characters, without needing to actually do several runs.. (which i might, but not before for a loooong time, after finishing!) xD

Thanks for all the info, hope you have a great day!
