Mystic carrion...

So... I searched the sewer of Baldur's Gate early for my new playthrough, and found the crypt of Carrion. I thus found the book where he noted that he hid his heart inside one of his undead servant.
I know it's Thrumbo, and I know where to find him (at the cabane on the beach).
But I'm stuck somehow, because when I go talk to him, I have no way to talk to him about carrion, I just had the basic conversation after finding him hidden in the wardrobe. And when I go to Carrion (I thought I needed the "find thrumbo quest" to unlock myself), he straigh forward attck me...
What can I do ? I feel like since I found his crypt first, he turned hostile against me, and now I can't talk to him, nor get the quest to find Thrumbo, thus I can't even propery talk to Thrumbo about the heart neither.... :/ Any one knows if I can get the quest in any other way ?

I found the crypt first, then Thrumbo in the wardrobe, then I talked to the Mystic - all was fine. Carrion was not aware that I had his jar or talked to Thrumbo.
Could it be that you stole smth in his manor and one of his "servants" noticed you? Because they aggro right away in this case.
Could you have destroyed any other jars by accident?

P.S. My experince happened before the latest patch, so there is a chance of changed behavior.

I did destroy another jar that was hanging in the same crypt I found the information about the heart. I'll try go and talk to him again, maybe I clicked on one of his furniture when I last came and he didn't like it. :D
But if he goes hostile as long as you have broken one of his jar, ... Well I definitly did. ^^' Is there a way to still get the quest ?

Yeah, I bet he's hostile because of that jar. The thing is Thrumbo has the main jar - you can't kill the Mystic without it. My guess is you could try to kill Thrumbo and see if he drops the heart jar - then you could still kill the Mystic and at least get XP and some loot.

I don't know any other way to aquire the quest though, sorry.
It is truly an oversight that you can't pick the quest from Thrumbo in case you already started destroying the jars. Seems like it's worth reporting to Larian.

Yes, I thought I could do that, but I like Thrumbo, I'd rather find a way where I don't need to come to that extend. ^^'
