Silly question- How do you find a game to play Post BG3?
I wonder how I'm going to game post BG3. Like my standards have risen from playing this game. I see games like D4, and while the story was good in that game, I have no interest in going back to a game like that at all full of microtransactions (I say that even with me buying BG3 2 times- first PS5 and then PC, lol). I honestly feel even Elden ring is a little interior in some ways lol. Just wondering if it's possible to go back to gaming like normal after finishing BG3 :)

Play BG2. It's just as good if not better

I tried to play other games.
Tried to play cyberpunk dlc, (I loved the original game already a lot) but stopped after 2 days and started another BG3.
I got Rogue trader, played for 2 or 3 days and stopped to continue my BG 3 game.

Sure...I will continue both of the games, but propably just after I managed to do the honour mode in BG3....
Remnant 2 is pretty legit if you want a change of pace, action soulslike, but also really well done environments and full of secrets similar to BG3. Multiclassing and builds too. I doubt I'll have much desire to load up anything else until Dragon's Dogma 2 for sure though.

My only issue with remnant 1 and 2 is they are just to easy, and 2 the powers don't feel as cool as 1s. But yeah it's still pretty solid and fun.

ah the good old hollow feeling after finishing a good game or television show :P
Looks like read along novel with zero meaningful interaction but like scratch and sniff IQ..

I go around trying new genres. It beats sitting around waiting for games to get better because "my standards are too high now because of BG3" or whatever.

I'm getting back into a genre that i was away from for a looooong time. Trying to find a good submarine sim either WW2 or modern day. I did find a good WW2 destroyer/convoy escort sim which is nice. Also thinking about upgrading my PC rig so i can run DCS. I see they have the AH64 in there and i used to be big on Janes Longbow 2 way back in the day. Ohh and there are a bunch of retro style flight sims/games being released by Microprose. Tiny Combat Arena looks good and is sitting on my backlog while i get my WW2 boat sim itch scratched.

Did you play Horizon Zero Dawn?

My standards have not risen one inch after BG3. While a decent and fun game it’s only strong point is the graphics that I don’t care much about anyway.

Looking forward to playing Colony Ship and Rogue Trader.

Consider playing something that's completely different. That way it won't compete directly with BG3. Like, after BG3 I went and played Dishonored and Dishonored 2, which were on sale (and I think are right now, too), for 2,49€ and 2,99€.

They are totally different in gameplay. First person stealth/action games. But they do are strongly plot driven, though the plot only changes a little based on your choices. And they have wonderful art direction and atmosphere. So I got a completely, totally different gameplay experience, but still good moods and intrigue.

(Also, because they can be played entirely in stealth mode, they can easily work for a player like me who has hooves for hands and can't aim or react for love or money. They let you hide and plan out what you're going to do.)

Another idea could be a CRPG that's different enough in the setting or story style. After all, sometimes it's not the details of the medium, but the story itself. Some good ideas have already been mentioned here. I could also point you towards Pillars of Eternity and PoE 2 - those are games created as sort of the spiritual successors to BG1, BG2 and the other Black Isle isometric RPGs. If nothing else, they are often found at great discounts since they are aging a bit.

There is no game "After BG 3"

I have 2 and a half completed playthroughs since september and already have playthrough 4 and 5 planned out.

I play Wotlk, SoD, Overwatch 2 or Blade & soul during the Mon - Thurs and then BG 3 on the weekends when there are longer stretches of time to play in a row.

There are a few games ... not AS GOOD as BG3 , but ok. Low your standard a bit and than you will find some (older!) games.

i have a legitimately correct answer, the best answer in this thread: larian studios last game was called divinity original sin 2, luckily for you BG3 was basically just that. it was divinity original sin 2 but with DND now instead.

so if you want more baldurs gate 3, play divinity original sin 2! it's amazing in all the same ways BG3 was. in fact i think DOS2 leans even more heavily into creativity and experimentation (you can still solve a lot of issues by stacking heavy chests or boxes lol). the game goes cheap often and has a huge modding scene.

if you want another long branching rpg, especially DND related, i will recommend pathfinder wrath of the righteous. it has a bit of learning curve and the first act or so can feel really slow. however that game consumed my life for like 1-2 months. the amount of options and builds in that game is nothing short of silly. it's super dense with writing and details.

No, just no lol
Divinity is by no means more BG3, it's just not, they have entirely different mechanics and systems they function on different fundamental levels and its absurd people say this lol

For starters it uses AP (actions points) you have 4 (or more depending on builds) and everything you do is tied to AP, movement, skills, spells, etc!
All characters are all classes, cthey can all fling magic or melee whatever you want you just have to have the skill points allotted.

Mentioning skill points, it has hard stat rules, if you lack the stats you fail checks, if you don't you pass, no dice needed.

The only thing rheu have in common is larian made both, I have played both and if someone tried to sell me it like this I would be widely disappointed finding out it wasn't the case.
