I lost Dark Amethyst

I was playing with friend and i dont have this stone on Spider Cave
Mе and friend inventory empty, i guess we maybe sell it, so i was check traders and its no stone anyway.
Is there a way to legally find it?

well "legally" is subjective here.. I actually lost the whole book with gem.. it just disappeared. so 'I legally spawned it back in lol

Can I insert a regular amethyst? I think I did just that, got wisdom +1, but without the talk with the dead spell

Pretty sure only the real deal works so you didn't lose it, you used it :D

because you didnt read every page unless you get the second book from act 3

actually there's two speak with the dead act 1 and danse macabre act 3. curious though, how were you able to read it without gem?

I don’t remember how I lifted and inserted the stone, to be honest

you can't open the book without the gem.. check your book and see if it shows the gem in the mouth. you might be good
