Sussur plant "withered"?

The 4 I picked up withered so I don't know what to do with them. I vaguely recall I needed them somewhere from a prior campaign. Where do I need them, and can I pick them up again?

No, you cannot pick them again. Once withered those are gone from your campaign.

You need those bloom at the arcane tower. If you have not visited that location yet, you will still get another chance to gain a bloom you need for that location. Sussur Bloom in general withers when taken outside the Underdark.

The Sussur bark on the other hand will not wither, as it is bark. That is used in a weapon crafting event.

No, you cannot pick them again. Once withered those are gone from your campaign.

Could be wrong as it has been a while, but I thought it did? Might have been something kind of less in-your-face though, like the item description or a book or something vs. the game just telling you, but almost certain it mentioned something about the bloom dying if exposed to sunlight.

That said, you can get past the tower's automated defenses without the flowers, it will be a bit more annoying to be sure!

It is less about using the bloom against the defenses of the tower.
More about activating the energy furnace in the basement to access the elevator.

Yeah, I am pretty sure you will be okay because the developers have made it easy in that regards. I mean it can easily happen that you missed about it and accidently have the bloom withered. So no worries as you just need one and you can get two more if I recall it right.
