Sure. No issue with that.
No. Different style. More akin to the old Infinity Engine games (BG1 & BG2) than BG3. The main thing D:OS2 brings to the table is tremendous environmental synergy in combat. Similar to how you can electrocute enemies with Lightning attack if they are standing in water. But leveled up to be the main thing in combat.
D:OS2 is very, very good. But it is not even close to BG3 in terms of advanced story and Companion interactions.
