Toughest fights so far on honor mode?

Damn man, i am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ proud of myself. I got all the way to gortash’s coronation on hm and I’ve been finding pretty much everything fairly easy so i decided to risk aggroing the whole damn event along with all the steel watch by objecting to his big moment… and sure enough now it’s us 4 vs everybody. And i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ won at level 10. That could’ve been the end of the whole hm run easily

So first turn we took a lot of damage and I realized I’m gonna have to cheese this somewhat.. so my barb started tossing water jugs and my wizard drank a speed pot and started casting chaim lightning to begin getting rid of all the adds. My dw rogue put down an arrow of darkness for us to hide in although we still ate a lot of dmg from the steel watch swords. Rogue also threw down an evards black tentacles scroll in a large area where they were all fairly gathered. My cleric started busting out heals and i also did moon mote near the darkness arrow so we can use both

Next round my barb used the illithid black hole ability (that ♥♥♥♥♥ op) with a bonus action cause I actually got through the zaithisk with good rolls. There are now about 6 steel watch and a bunch of guards all grouped up on the black tentacles, and I started yeeting any aoes i had on it. Sent in a rune powder vial, a bunch of smokepowder bombs, chain lightning, fireball scrolls, you name it.

After about 4 turns of black hole grouping and aoes a lot of the adds were dead and gortash changes forms (that’s new). My rogue put down a globe of invincibility scroll and threw down a haste spore grenade and we began working on gortash. Got him melted within about 3 turns while running damage control and heals and what not.. he dies, and then we clean up the rest

Somehow we aggro’d some steel watch upstairs so we had to dash through all the aoe traps to get there and wipe them out too within the same battle. What a fight! Terrible idea, would not recommend, but damn it feels good to get through it

How bout you guys? Any wild fights so far?

Well played. That was risky. It's satisfying to win those kinds of battles in Ironman or Honour Mode. I like to take out the humans first in that battle, move so the Steel Watch becomes clustered and then cheese it with Chain Lightning. Heh.

My wild Honour Mode fights were before level 5. My Sorcerer needed to do more than avg dmg with her last Quickened Scorching Ray spell to kill the Spider Queen before she was gonna chew through my level 4 party. I ended up critting her to so that was a close one I remember.

I just finished Honor Mode. I was overly cautious and avoided some of the boss fights. I allied with Gortash so I didn't have to do that questline, haha. The one that nearly ended me was Cazador and I wasn't expecting it at all. I thought he would be a pushover like he always is, but no. I had to flee and revive 2 party members in the middle of it,

I haven’t actually fought cazador ever, but I’ve been hitting all the fights even the act 2 skippable bosses so I intend to fight him. What was so tough about him?

I haven’t actually fought cazador ever, but I’ve been hitting all the fights even the act 2 skippable bosses so I intend to fight him. What was so tough about him?

His legendary action cought me off guard too but i had a level 6 counterspell in the bank, kinda lucky.

Not certain, i had the bug where you can't examine/scan ennemies, i had to do orin and him with that handicap in honor mode. It was fixed after restarting, i should have done that earlier but i was lazy, could have costed me.

Can cast a level 6 spell as reaction that does AOE Force damage, makes you vulnerable to piercing damage, pushes you back, deals piercing damage every turn, and heals Cazador.

But you can counterspell it or silence him, so it's not as bad as it sounds.
