Talk to the Duegar to get the mission to free Nere (sounds like you already have). Talk to the Gnome slaves to learn about the escaped Gnome. Go meet her - go through the hidden door in the kitchen/dining hall area. Get the RunePowder charge from her. Go back to the rockslide, throw the runepowder on it. stand back and blow it up with a fire arrow or firebolt spell.
In the Grymforge, you can long rest as many times as you need to UNTIL you enter the rockslide area for the first time. After that you can't leave or long rest without consequences. That's why I always do everything else in the forge first, then go to the rockslide area and finish things up.
So this is where i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up, ive already talked to her and didnt get the rune powder cuz i failed the check, i had the two hidden satchels but used one and now only have one for the cave in (two or more are needed) and ive already long rested so i cant leave the location without the guy and all the gnomes dying
i cant go back to the surface because ive long rested and now if i leave the quest autofails unfortunately
Yeah ive seen alot online from what ive been looking up that theres a ton in the goblin camp but ive never noticed them or thought to pick them up so now im stuck and only have the one satchel charge and have rested so i cant go back up to the surface to grab any of them
There's one other option that might work (I haven't tried it, but I heard it might work). If you haven't done the actual Forge yet, you could create one of the Adamantine Weapons. They have special damage vs. inanimate objects and might be able to break the rocks. Also, you can still kind of save the Gnomes by just starting a fight with the Duegar even without breaking the rockslide. Won't get Nere or his tadpole, but it might be an option...[\spoiler]
