I assume this works in honor mode like it does everywhere do this till lvl 6 and the dwarf lady in mycnoid colony will sell cloud giant toes, then you can make 27str exliers wooooo (again if this works in honor mode)
Stealing arrows, scrolls and potions is a very easy DC, especially at lvl 3 when shadowheart can enhance the rogues dex checks with enhance abilities.
anyway, when you liberally use consumables (which refresh in most stores for almost no reason at all, constantly) all fights are a complete stomp. nothing can even slightly hinder you.
Larian really need to introduce a difficulty mod that fixes the abundance issue, and sticks EVEN closer to 5e rules (than the small steps that honour mode took). Their homebrew rules make everything absurdly easy, and honour mode does not really change that significantly.
i can confirm the ethel perpetual restock thing works in honour mode. this means it will likely also work for the dwarf lady in the myconid colony.
rogue (with at least dex 16 and expertise in sleight of hand)+ring of smuggler+gloves of power (you can get all these VERY early on), + shadowheart cast cats grace on rogue = rogue that can steal ALL consumables (arrows, scrolls, potions).
gloves of power i think is dropped by the withers crypt area. all i know is i ALWAYS find those gloves, by level 3. its definitely somewhere there.
ring of smuggler is found on a skeleton just across the river crossing (by scratch) to the right. skeleton is partially obscured by a bush.
oh, forgot the one last item. 'necklace of guidance' (i forget its name). you find this on the skeleton in the middle of the harper cache site. when your rogue already buffed by cats grace, then casts guidance on themselves.... ontop of all the other buffs listed above, you will never miss a theft roll on scrolls, potions or arrows. (unless you roll double 1s..... which does happen.... but extremely rarely, and in that case, just talk your way out of it, or pay the fine).
and being able to use powerful consumables liberally during all fights is instant win.
1 - make a pickpocket rogue with a few levels in moon druid, put everything into dex and wisdom, and sneak, sleight of hand, and perception. Give him all the dexterity gear including the dex advantage gloves from the zhentarim. Now you have a pickpocket who can cast guidance and rob a merchant blind, and if it’s in a crowded place you can cast fog cloud to give yourself room to hide and make the merchant face away from you, and if you get caught you can wildshape into a cat or dire raven and sneak away. The raven can fly so you can reach anywhere and the cat can jump through cell door bars lol. Every time you long rest, go through all the merchants and steal all alchemy and magic arrows at guaranteed steals. Steal all the magic scrolls at nearly guaranteed
2 - Make a transmutation wizard with some levels in lore bard, stack everything into wisdom and medicine, and once you get enhance ability you now have guaranteed double alchemy output for all your potions and elixirs and thanks to hireling 1 you have nearly unlimited ingredients
3 - make a merchant using lore bard. Put everything into charisma and persuasion and give him the voice of the circle amulet from act 1. By act 3 you’ll be selling/buying at 250% default and maybe higher haven’t hit the cap yet
only worth stealing from vendors. wait until their back is turned with your buffed up rogue, go stealth, hit turn-based mode, and then rob them of all their scrolls, potions, arrows and ingredients.
