How to find Thaniel and to end the shadow curse when Halsin is dead?

Hi there, due to a bug in the game, Halsin appeared dead in my camp, and I cannot resurrect him. However, it seems that I need Halsin to free Thaniel and get the quest going to remove the shadow curse. Can I (how) lift the shadow curse without Halsin? I reached out to Oliver already and play hide and seek twice. But there are no new dialogue options with Oliver, even when I finished act 2 and can now go to Baldur's Gate and act 3. Help anyone?

You cannot continue the quest without Halsin. He must be alive. If you can't res him, you cannot finish it.
