lol
though that way she surely still counts as departed
Wow how clever. So when I exit the place, Shadowheart won't be there to leave me?
Also if I beat Bathazar will Shadowheart not leave me?
I had inquired about her before in conversations, but - never pushing things when she was holding back, and taking a neutral and curious attitude towards her beliefs rather than either implying that I shared them or rejected them as unacceptable. Her approval meter was... close to full, IIRC.
During the Nightsong conversation, my choices were trust Shadowheart followed by pointing out sparing the Nightsong might help Shadowheart learn about her own past that she'd been made to forget. Neither had a skill check attached.
Do not forget putting the body in a chest and carrying it with you till the rest of the game.
For Shadowheart not to leave you you have to complete the trials, kill Balthazar and let her deal with Nightsong whatever way she wants.
Kill Balthazar, yes. (if for no other reason than him being a freak of nature) Then when speaking to the Nightsong, just trust her. The Nightsong will mention something from her past, she will be too curious to kill her. You don't have to persuade her.
To gain approval with her, don't ask her to spill secrets shes not ready to. There isn't really a trick to Shadowheart. She likes it when you are mean to Lae'zel. Give her a Night Orchid in Act 2. Allow the Loviathar priest to punish you in Act 1.
