What do you mean 'look for'?

I don't think pinging does anything in solo. Multiplayer features go brrrr.

Pay attention to tutorials, read what your abilities do, try things out. It takes a bit of patience to figure out. Maybe look for some beginners' guides as well.

And this isn't a solo game, it's a coop game.

Thanks. i know all the info to find, but the first steps to take in a first battle with two characters on the nautilus in the beginning i already lost.
Have taken a paladin as a character and added a fighter
It's only melee combat with a sword , but not sure.
The action and bonus actions: how to plan them ?
More information about the opponent I must have, because the enemy : imp shoots with something and then i must try to stay out of range and wait until the imp comes within combat distance ?

Here are my basic tips for New Players:

* Play on Explorer mode. You can always switch to a higher difficulty if it is to 'easy'. :)

* After playing for a couple of hours, START OVER. Things will go SO much more smoothly now that you know some of the basics of strategy and tactics.

* Prepare a balanced party FIRST before you go into major combat. Here are the Companions you should recruit first. Explore around in order to find them. They take little or no combat to get:

- Lae'zel Fighter
- Gale Wizard
- Astarion Rogue
- Shadowheart Cleric

* You should select one of those above roles for your character (I recommend Wizard). Then when you reach the final Companion to recruit (you can only have 4 in the party) send the duplicate to camp and recruit the final one.

* When you have Withers in camp and the gold, respec your characters specializations:
- Fighter to Battle Master
- Rogue to Thief
- Cleric to Light
- Wizard to Evocation School
Whichever you choose for your class, start that way.

* For your FIRST Feat, take 'Alert'. Yes, other folks might recommend Ability or some other one, but it is a total game changer to be able to act FIRST every single time.

* Don't jump into major fights early in the game. You want have a full setup before going hard in the game. EXPLORE. You get EXP for exploring. Talk to everyone. Read every book. Take what you can (but don't steal RED stuff) and send it to camp to sell when you reach a vendor.

* Quicksave often. Watch out for when the game Autosaves on its own. That means there is probably something important coming soon. Like a big fight. I have my Quicksaves and Autosaves limited to 3 each. I Manual Save at important points, like after a big fight or right before a major area.

* Make sure you are using Armor and Weapons you are Proficient in. Otherwise, severe penalties are applied!

Have Fun and don't sweat the small stuff!

I don't believe the game is all that difficult, they do have options to choose your difficulty level if you ever feel the need to. I would suggest, going to YouTube and looking at beginner guides to get a general understanding of the game and to know what to look for when playing.

Pinging is useful in multi, not so much in solo.

If you're a paladin, you're primarily a melee fighter with a dash of spellcasting. You want to rush into close range in as many combats as you possibly can. This isn't like a 3rd person brawler where you wait for openings. If you can get in and hit someone without repercussions, do it. Unless there's obviously something bad about to happen. (Like if there's a trap on the ground or if you're lined up against a cliff where the enemy can instakill you via knocking you off).

You should be quicksaving almost all the time. The game doesn't save very often, so if you forget, you might have to do huge fights or even hours of content over again.

You can do things like plan for other characters' turns in this game. For example, I give my Barbarian Elixir of Bloodlust every day. It gives her an extra action and some extra movement that turn if you killed an enemy that turn. It's amazing for a lot of fights where she can just run up, slice some poor dude's body in half, and then gets extra attacks and movement so she can do it AGAIN. But you have to get a kill for it to work, so if someone has too many hitpoints to execute with my Barbarian, I often use my other characters to soften them up first and set up for a devastating Barbarian turn.

Spells like Hold Person are MADE for this sort of thing. Hold Person locks someone down and prevents them from doing ANYTHING for up to 10 turns, but it requires concentration. Someone can hit the caster and knock them out of the spell. But you can always Hold Person, then IMMEDIATELY nail that paralyzed person with your other characters for massive, unstoppable damage.

Thanks , yes using that spell to render someone powerless in 10 turns seems like a strong spell.
Am not an expert of crpg's , but always there is/are a spell(s) to be found that are very powerful and thus valuable to have.
Basically you are stuck with a leveling system and just have to make do with the weapons available at a given level
