How to change main controller in co-op?

Hey! Recently I've started a co-op game with my gf and during the gameplay we realised that her controller is the "main one" responsible for doing saves, grouping characters etc. Do you know if there's a way to change the 2nd controller to be the main one so I could save games/sort inventory and do all the "technical actions" with my controller? I couldn't really find a solution to this instead of starting a new game so far which I don't want to do to be honest. Appreciate your help and advices, thanks

Switch who is controlling who so that could fix your issue. Just exchange controllers after setting the controlled characters. I don't use controller so I can't walk you through the steps. I'd be baffled if you can't decide who gets to play who though.

My point is that each of us wants to control character each of us created him/herself and just switching controllers doesn't solve the issue because in such case I'd be controlling my gf's character and vice-versa which we don't want. I couldn't find an option in the settings to switch in-game controller, not phisycally swapping them from hand to hand so my question remains - does anyone found out how to switch settings as described?

Swap the controllers physically, then switch the characters ingame. The dominant controller is the controller designated by Windows as #1.

Thanks to your tips I've managed to solve it switching to keyboard mode and dragging my character portrait to be on the top of character portraits column. Then I turned on the controller I wanted to become main one and finally it works :) I appreciate your effort
